America .. A teenager shoots 14 children and a teacher in an elementary school

14 children and a teacher were killed by an 18-year-old gunman who opened fire at an elementary school in Texas today before he was shot by police.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott told a news conference that the attacker shot and killed 14 students and a teacher horribly.

He added that the suspect was from the area, noting that the policemen who responded to the operation killed him.

The motives for the attack, which is considered one of the deadliest in a school in the United States in years, are not yet known.

Shortly after the incident, White House spokeswoman Karen Jean-Pierre announced that US President Joe Biden, who had just concluded a trip that included South Korea and Japan, would deliver a speech upon his return to Washington on Tuesday evening, in which he would address the school shooting.

And she said in a tweet that Biden "will speak in the evening when he returns to the White House," stressing the president's solidarity with the families of the victims of this "terrible incident."

Local police had initially reported the arrest of a suspect after the shooting at Robb Elementary School in the small town of Yuvaldi, about 130 km east of San Antonio.

Yuvaldi Hospital had announced on Facebook that 13 children had been transferred to the medical facility for treatment, noting that two people had arrived dead.

University Health in San Antonio said a 66-year-old woman was "in critical condition," noting that two injured people, an adult and a child, were received.
