“As of May 23, no cases of infection with monkeypox have been detected in the Russian Federation,” RIA Novosti quotes a statement.

Rospotrebnadzor added that the disease is not highly contagious, but transmission from person to person by airborne droplets is still possible with prolonged personal contact.

Earlier it became known that sanitary and quarantine control was strengthened at the Krasnoyarsk airport in order to prevent the importation of monkeypox.
