China, US-South Korea summit mentions Taiwan "Absolutely no interference in internal affairs"

The Chinese government is protesting the mention of the Taiwan Strait in the joint statement at the Korea-U.S. summit as interference in internal affairs.

"The Taiwan issue is China's internal affairs," said Wang Wenbin, spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

In response to China's opposition, the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a principled position that "the principle of respecting 'one China' has not changed."
