[Commentary] From May 20th to 24th, US President Biden visited South Korea and Japan successively.

This Asia trip is Biden's first visit to Asia since he took office nearly a year and a half.

Some analysts pointed out that although Biden went straight to South Korea and Japan, the focus of his visit was to China.

Recently, Yuan Zheng, deputy director of the Institute of American Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said that "the United States regards China as its number one challenger and threat in the Asia-Pacific region."

The United States is now trying to regard China as a challenger and threat in this region, to create an alliance system dominated by (the United States), or what kind of mechanism to contain you (China).

[Explanation] In fact, the U.S. government is trying to weave a "big net" that covers all political, economic and military affairs, covering China.

[Explanation] On the political level, during Biden's visit to Japan, he will attend the "Quad Mechanism" (QUAD) summit of the United States, Japan, India and Australia; on the economic level, Biden will launch the "Indo-Pacific Economic Framework" during his visit to Japan; on the military level The essence of the "Indo-Pacific strategy" pushed by the United States in the Asia-Pacific region is to build a closed and exclusive "small circle", and then provoke division and confrontation in the region.

QUAD (“quad-lateral mechanism”) itself is directly related to China. Americans want to fix QUAD (“quad-lateral mechanism”) and improve the level of cooperation.

The "Indo-Pacific Economic Framework" (the United States) is promoting this, which is more about the industrial chain, not that we cut tariffs or promote trade cooperation. It is the United States that excludes China and then comes to isolate China or kill China. In terms of technology and development, the purpose is to serve (for) the hegemonic containment of China by the United States.

[Commentary] Yuan Zheng pointed out that the "Indo-Pacific Economic Framework" lacks other economic agreements that are conducive to promoting trade between countries. Compared with the "Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership" (RCEP) that promotes the development of Asia-Pacific economic and trade, "Indo-Pacific It is difficult for the "economic framework" to have a market in the Asia-Pacific region, and it is even more difficult for the United States to "weave a net" militarily to surround China.

First of all, in large areas, everyone does not agree to engage in such military activities, and China's international influence is increasing.

In our foreign policy of peaceful coexistence, we have many prospects and policies in the future, and the relationship with these countries is getting closer and closer, especially the cooperation at the economic level is strengthening, and everyone benefits.

[Explanation] In the face of Biden's intention to "weave the net", Yuan Zheng believes that China can mainly start "breaking the net" from two aspects. strength and international status; secondly, China should continue to adhere to an independent foreign policy of peace and push the level of cooperation among countries in the Asia-Pacific region to a new level.

[Concurrent] Yuan Zheng, Deputy Director of the Institute of American Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences

We must pursue a foreign policy of peace, strengthen not only political, economic, military, but also social and cultural exchanges. We must work together to achieve a win-win situation and bring regional cooperation and integration to a new level.
