More than 330 kilos of cannabis, as well as 83,750 euros in cash, were seized by the police as part of a major operation to dismantle drug trafficking between Nantes and Spain, announces the court interregional specialist (Jirs) of Rennes.

Deliveries were made by truck from Algeciras, in the south of the Iberian Peninsula.

Over the past year, 24 imports of narcotics have been recorded, for a total of 2.4 tons of estimated illegal goods.

After a long investigative work, a series of arrests was therefore carried out on the night of May 13 to 14 in the Aquitaine and Pays-de-la-Loire regions.

A truck alone carrying nearly 300 kilos of cannabis, hidden in suitcases, was stopped in the Landes.

In Maine-et-Loire, near Cholet, 23 kilos of cannabis were also discovered at the home of a suspect.

The investigating judge indicted ten people, nine of French nationality and one Moroccan.

Eight were placed in pre-trial detention and two under judicial control, specifies the parquet floor of Rennes.

In Nantes, no less than 14 kg of cannabis discovered in an apartment
