Heavy fighting continues around the towns of Severodonetsk and Lysikansk, Ukraine

Heavy fighting continues in eastern Ukraine around the towns of Severodonetsk and Lysykansk, Luhansk region.

And the General Staff in Kyiv announced today, Sunday, that the positions of the Ukrainian forces along the front line are being bombarded by Russian artillery.

This comes as Russian forces are trying unsuccessfully to storm villages north, east and south of Severodonetsk.

The same valor is being fought to preserve the villages south of the road from Lysykansk to Bakhmut in the Donetsk region.

The Russian army has been trying for days to cut off supplies from Donetsk to Ukrainian groups around Severodonetsk and Lysikansk.

Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that during the past 24 hours, air strikes were carried out on about 40 targets, including five weapons depots in Donbass, the name of the region that includes both Luhansk and Donetsk.

More than 580 targets were targeted by missiles and artillery across the country.
