  Yin Xiyue nominated Han Dezhu as the prime minister candidate on the 3rd of last month. On May 10, Yin Xiyue signed and approved Han Dezhu's personnel appointment and submitted it to the National Assembly for processing.

On May 20, the South Korean National Assembly voted by secret on the appointment.

Among the 250 members present, 208 voted in favor, 36 opposed, and 6 abstained. The appointment was passed by the Congress.

  According to reports, Han Deok-su graduated from the Department of Economics of Seoul National University and obtained a doctorate in economics from Harvard University in the United States. After passing the civil service administrative examination, he served as the Minister of Commerce and Negotiations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Commerce and the Chief Secretary of the President's Economy during the Kim Dae-jung government. Director of State Adjustment Office, Deputy Prime Minister of Economy and Minister of Finance and Economy, and Prime Minister of State, he served as ambassador to the United States during the Lee Myung-bak administration.
