“Federal Court did not allow Biden to terminate section 42. The court issued a nationwide injunction that orders section 42 to remain in effect,” Texas Gov. Greg Abbott wrote on his Twitter.

The so-called Section 42 refers to a policy that allows the US authorities to enforce disease prevention laws to keep hundreds of thousands of people from entering the country intending to enter the States through the border with Mexico.

In May 2021, Biden reversed the decision of his predecessor, Donald Trump, to suspend the entry of immigrants without health insurance into the country.

According to US authorities, as of October 1, at least 11 million people live illegally in the state, but the relevant departments do not have the necessary resources to expel all these people.
