“An investigator of the investigative department for the city of Khimki of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow Region initiated a criminal case into the death of four people, two of whom are children of 2 and 11 years old, as a result of poisoning,” Interfax quoted the message as saying.

According to the investigation, on May 21, four dead were found in an apartment on Likhachevskoye Highway.

At the same time, the man who discovered the dead was hospitalized in a medical facility.

According to preliminary data, the cause of death could be carbon monoxide poisoning.

Earlier, a criminal case was opened in Tobolsk after a prosecutor's check organized after 40 children were infected with salmonellosis.

According to kp.ru, the materials of the check were sent by the prosecutor's office to the investigating authority to resolve the issue of criminal prosecution.

As a result of their consideration, a criminal case was initiated.
