This series of several months ends well for PSG, which retains its best player, with whom it dreams of winning its first Champions League.

His decision falls a few hours before the kick-off of the last match of the season, against Metz at the Parc des Princes (7:00 p.m. UT), where the club has planned a party to celebrate its 10th league title.

According to Marca and RMC, he announced his wish to stay with Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez, once again turned down after trying to land the centre-forward last year.

"

I hope he will stay here for many years

," his coach Mauricio Pochettino said on Friday.

By committing to Paris for the long term, the native of Bondy (23) could beat Edinson Cavani's record (200 goals) and thus become the top scorer in the history of the club.

PSG, owned by the Qatari fund QSI, would have made a financial golden bridge to retain Mbappé, who would become the new headliner of his project, ahead of Neymar and Lionel Messi.

Mbappé's entourage, contacted in the middle of the afternoon, did not wish to react to press information, pending a communication from PSG.
