Innovate to change the planet?

This is what the "Change Now" show in Paris offers until Saturday evening.

For this fifth edition, business leaders from all over the world present their innovations.

Beneath the huge globe-shaped sculpture, Yves Parlier's miniature catamaran catches the eye of the curious.

The former navigator suggests using a kitesurf sail to reduce CO2 emissions.

"A boat 350 meters long, which would be towed by a wing of 1,600 square meters, will be able, in the best conditions, to sail at ten knots with the kite alone", he explains.

His idea should "make it possible to save 20% on average for a cruising speed which would be sixteen knots".

Sorting workshops

A few meters further on, on Jim Pasquet's stand, we discover a white plastic seat made entirely from bottle caps.

Crushed and then heated, they will be transformed into seats for the future swimming pool of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. "These are seats that will be both recycled, from waste collected in Île-de-France, and recyclable", details he.

"If at the end of their life, let's imagine in 20 years, we have to recover these elements, we can dismantle them, regrind them and redo exactly the same process", assures Jim Pasquet.
