The art epidemic has housed the 19th-century buildings on the mountain at Linnaeus Square since 1987, and today everything from musicians and stage artists to dancers and writers work there.

As of an agreement from 2012, the association has been allowed to stay on the premises for a fee of 400,000 per year.

The agreement has included that the association is responsible for the maintenance of the properties.

Increase to four million

That may now change.

Because after a decision from the city of Gothenburg, they now want to go back to charging 1.7 million per year in rent per year, as it was before 2012, and then gradually increase until the rent reached four million kronor per year.
