The departments concerned until 6 p.m. are Val-de-Marne, Seine-et-Marne, Essonne, Yvelines, Seine-Saint-Denis, Hauts-de-Seine, Paris, Val-d 'Oise, Oise, Eure, Marne, Seine-Maritime, Aisne, Ardennes, Somme, Nord and Pas-de-Calais.

Météo-France also predicts violent gusts of wind that can exceed 100 km / h.

Météo-France has placed 17 departments in the Paris region and Hauts-de-France on orange vigilance for thunderstorms on Friday morning, due to possible "locally violent phenomena".

All the departments of the Paris region as well as those of Hauts-de France are concerned.

The institution also predicts violent gusts of wind that can exceed 100 km / h and cumulative rain that can locally reach 10 to 30 millimeters in less than an hour.

Hail is also possible.

Thunderstorms until late afternoon

The storms which are currently heading towards the Paris basin should cross the vigilance zone "from west to east between the end of the morning and the end of the afternoon", indicates Météo-France in its bulletin.

The Hauts-de-France prefecture recalled the precautions to be taken during thunderstorms: shelter objects exposed to the wind or rain, avoid moving around, especially in the forest and near waterways;

do not take shelter under trees, avoid using telephones and electrical appliances.
