US President Biden starts the second day of his visit to Korea this morning with a flower arrangement at the Seoul National Cemetery.

The Korea-US summit will take place this afternoon at the Yongsan Presidential Office Building.

Just 11 days after Yoon Seok-yeol took office, this is President Biden's first visit to Asian countries.

The summit will be held in the following order: a small-group meeting, attended only by the two leaders, and key staff members, followed by a private conversation and an extended meeting.

The small number of talks will be attended by National Security Office Director Kim Seong-han and Foreign Minister Park Jin on the ROK side, and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan on the US side and Assistant Secretary of State for East Asia and Asia Daniel Crettenbrink on the US side.

At the summit, the main agenda will be responding to North Korea's provocations, economic security, and Korea's contribution to the international community.

Medicines related to the COVID-19 situation in North Korea and the Ukraine crisis are also expected to be on the table.

After the summit, the leaders of the Republic of Korea and the United States will hold a joint press conference and issue a joint declaration containing the results of the summit.

The joint declaration is expected to include the ROK-U.S. expansion deterrence strategy in relation to the North Korean issue, and cooperation in the semiconductor supply chain in relation to economic security.

From 7pm onwards, an official welcome dinner will be held at the National Museum of Korea presided over by President Yoon, and the heads of major domestic groups will also attend.
