It is fifteen years since Carina Bengtsson took over the parent farm outside Torskinge.

Today she works full time on the farm, where there are sheep, mountain cows.

pigs and chickens.

- It has grown over time and when the pandemic came, I also opened a farm shop, she says.

Interest has increased

In a garden behind the barn stands the cow Mona.

It itches on her back, sees Carina and offers a hand.

- We should be proud of our Swedish agriculture.

Our animals are well.

When I sell my goods here on the farm, I also advertise for others who sell locally produced goods.

She says that interest in the locally produced has increased.

Some customers want to visit the farm and see how the animals are doing.

- The pandemic and also the war in Ukraine has made more people understand the importance of local food.

Other local producers

The dog Alva follows Carina around.

In the sheep pen, she quickly rounds up the sheep and follows Carina's call for "forward" and "left".

- She is a little careful now, because the ewes can get a little aggressive when they are guarding their lambs.

There are 60 ewes on the farm and Carina sells both skins and meat.

In her shop she also has goods from other local producers.
