Zhu Fenglian said that the Taiwan issue is China's internal affairs, and no foreign interference is allowed.

Regarding the issue of Taiwan's participation in WHO's activities, our position is consistent and clear, that is, it must be handled in accordance with the one-China principle, which is also the fundamental principle confirmed by the UN General Assembly Resolution 2758 and the World Health Assembly Resolution 25.1.

Taiwan is part of China and has no right to participate in international organizations that are restricted to sovereign states.

The US is well aware of this, and has repeatedly stated that it does not support "Taiwan independence" and opposes the participation of China's Taiwan region in international organizations that only sovereign states can join.

Relevant US commitments should fall on WHO's Taiwan-related issues.

Zhu Fenglian said that the US has ulterior motives by using "observers" to talk about things.

It must be pointed out that from 2009 to 2016, on the basis of the "1992 Consensus" embodying the one-China principle on both sides of the strait, and through cross-strait consultations, Taiwan participated in the World Health Assembly in the name of "Chinese Taipei" and as an observer for eight consecutive years.

This is a special arrangement made under the premise of adhering to the one-China principle and in the context of the peaceful development of cross-strait relations at that time, and does not constitute a precedent.

The reason why the DPP authorities were unable to attend the meeting was entirely due to their stubborn adherence to the separatist stand of "Taiwan independence".

Zhu Fenglian said that Taiwan compatriots are our close relatives, and no one cares more about their health and well-being than us.

Under the premise of the one-China principle, we have made proper arrangements for Taiwan's participation in global health affairs.

Any epidemic information notified by the WHO to the world can be obtained by Taiwan in a timely manner.

Zhu Fenglian pointed out that we urge the US side to respect the facts, abide by the one-China principle and the provisions of the three Sino-US joint communiques, fulfill the solemn commitment the US side has made to China on the Taiwan issue, and stop playing the "Taiwan card" and "using Taiwan to control China".
