China News Service, May 19 (Xinhua) According to comprehensive foreign media reports, on May 18, local time, US Secretary of State Blinken said that the United States has reopened the embassy in Kyiv.

  Blinken also said security measures had been enhanced to keep U.S. diplomats safe.

  The U.S. political news site Politico reported that people familiar with the embassy's reopening plan said the embassy would resume operations only to a limited extent and would not provide consular services.

  On February 14, local time, Blinken announced the closure of the embassy in Ukraine and a "temporary transfer" of the few diplomatic personnel remaining in Ukraine to the western city of Lviv.

Later, a small number of staff were moved from the temporary office in Lviv to Poland.
