During Eintracht's European Cup game against Glasgow, there was a real scandal and sometimes dramatic scenes in Seville: even before the game, there were no more drinks in the corner where the Eintracht fans were standing.

The operators of the kiosks had already closed the shops before kick-off: they were sold out.

At half time, some helpers had organized a few bottles of water.

But that wasn't nearly enough to supply the more than 10,000 fans in the stadium, which was still around 30 degrees hot.

With many spectators in the stadium two hours before kick-off, thousands of supporters were left without water for between five and six hours after a day when the sun was beating down and temperatures had soared to more than 35 degrees.

Attacks of weakness in the blocks

There was no official comment from Eintracht on Thursday, only the indication that they had contacted the international football association UEFA as the organizer.

During the game, there were therefore attacks of weakness among fans in the blocks, some of whom were completely exhausted and dehydrated due to the lack of water.

In times of need, many used the heavily chlorinated tap water;

the fans also cooled themselves with water from the outside to keep going.

But even this reaction was partially prevented: In the meantime, the tap water in the toilets has apparently been turned off.

No comment has yet been received from UEFA.
