“Rosaviatsia ... is starting to select air carriers as part of the provision of subsidies to compensate for operating expenses for domestic flights in April-October of this year,” the ministry’s statement says.

It is assumed that subsidies will be paid per passenger-kilometre on domestic routes. 

At the same time, the expected passenger turnover should be at least 90% of the figure for the same period in 2021.

Earlier, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree on temporary rules for the fulfillment of obligations of Russian airlines and organizations to foreign companies.

It was also reported that the Cabinet plans to allocate additional subsidies to domestic airlines to make up for lost revenues.
