This week, a delegation from the Swedish police visited the supplier in Finland who manufactures the passports.

It is the same company that many other European countries use and they are also faced with long waiting times due to the fact that many want to travel again after the corona pandemic.

One of the machines that make the passports is broken, according to the police, the technical problems must be solved quickly.

The long waiting times to get a passport time, the police believe will be resolved within the next two weeks.

The problem now is rather to get your passport.

- Right now we have shortened the queues significantly for a couple of weeks, we see that there will be an even better situation in the next two weeks, says Per Engström, national commander of the police for the special incident Pass.

He urges to use the option of a national ID card where the waiting time is somewhat shorter.
