The lack of staff at the hospital has already forced several university hospitals to close their emergency services.

A degradation of the healthcare system which risks getting worse with the summer holidays.

Faced with exhausted caregivers, Professor Rémi Salomon urges on Europe 1 the next government to take into account the demands of caregivers.

If the Covid-19 crisis is running out of steam, that of the hospital is intensifying.

At the microphone of Europe 1, Professor Rémi Salomon, president of the Conference of Medical Committees of Establishments (CME) of CHU de France, returns to the lack of nursing staff which has already forced several hospitals to close their emergency services .

"Caregivers are very combative and want to do their job well. But it's true that we have pulled the strings a lot and today, there is really a need for recognition of this work which is essential for everyone, for the citizens", he explains on Europe 1.

Already exhausted by their dedication during the health crisis, caregivers may still have to make sacrifices.

In question: a lack of staff risking leading them to have to give up some of their summer holidays.

"We need real recognition of the nation"

In order to avoid further deterioration of the healthcare system, Rémi Salomon is asking the next government and the next Minister of Health to act quickly.

“We need a good health system, and there needs to be real support, real recognition from the nation,” calls the professor.

For him, this "goes through salary increases, nights, weekends and then better working conditions."

Measures that caregivers expect, says Rémi Salomon.

"They are ready to mobilize again", continues the president of the CME, "but on condition of having signs of recognition on the part of the nation and therefore of their political representatives."
