A former Russian colonel criticizes the war in Ukraine on state television: "The situation for us will get worse"
"Let's not drink 'information tranquilizers', because sometimes information is spread about some moral or psychological collapse of the Ukrainian
armed forces
, as if they are close to a moral crisis or a fracture," retired Colonel
Mikhail Khodarenok said
in the edition on Monday of the program

Khodarenok said that Ukraine could arm a million people: "Considering that European aid will come into full effect and a million armed Ukrainian soldiers can join the fight, we need to see this reality of the near future, and we need to consider that in our operational and strategic calculations. The situation for us will frankly get worse."

The US studies prohibiting Russia from paying its debt, leaving it on the verge of suspension of payments
The Biden administration is poised to completely block Russia's ability to pay US bondholders after the deadline expires next week, a move that could bring Moscow to the brink of default.
Russia has so far managed to make its international bond payments despite Western sanctions, which have complicated the payment process.
The country has 40 billion dollars in international bonds and last month it paid its overdue bonds in extremis, thus avoiding default.
Russia has not defaulted on its foreign debt since the aftermath of its 1917 revolution. Now Russia has a looming deadline of May 25 when the license that allows it to make payments is about to expire. Bloomberg News reported that the Biden administration it is set to allow the waiver to expire as scheduled. "It is under consideration," an official told Reuters.
"We are looking at all options to increase pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin."
