The facts occurred Tuesday at the Clairs-Soleils college, in Besançon, in the Doubs.

In the middle of the afternoon, two 13-year-old boys from outside the establishment burst into a classroom.

They disrupted the lesson before brandishing a handgun and threatening the teacher in front of her class, according to L'Est Républicain.

They then left, before being arrested in the street shortly after by the police.

The two teenagers, who had already threatened a scooter owner before the college affair and were already known to the services, were taken into custody.

They had on them a replica handgun and several screwdrivers.

A psychological help unit has been set up for teachers and students.
