That is why cuttings are sold for thousands of kronor

Between 2020 and 2021, sales of cuttings on the auction service Tradera increased by 20 percent.

Figures that SVT has read show that the trend continues this year as well.

- The strong rise last year can certainly be a pandemic effect and the fact that sales remain at approximately the same levels this year indicates that interest in cuttings is still very high, says Sofia Hagelin, press manager at Tradera.

"Sold privately"

Over the years, some unique cuttings have pulled away even more in price.

Last year, a cutting was sold privately for almost SEK 100,000.

- When you sell for that amount, it is often a matter of the buyer and seller wanting to create a relationship.

Then you often choose to sell privately instead of using an auction site, says Oskar Widmark, cutting enthusiast and seller.
