• Families The baby of Joaquín Cortés, admitted to the hospital: "He has a more aggressive virus than Covid"

  • Interview Joaquín Cortés: "Drugs have been very close to me but I have always rejected them"

It was January when the news broke.

Bailaor

Joaquín Cortés and his wife,

Mónica Moreno, had

stopped paying the rent

for the house in Lisbon where they lived.

The Spanish debt was already making headlines in the neighboring country, where it was claimed that after a year and a half without paying the rent,

his debt exceeded 20,000 euros.

This fact had led to a

lawsuit

by the artist's landlord, and finally the Portuguese justice has agreed with the landlord.

This is what the Portuguese newspaper

Correio da Manha

affirms in the last few hours, assuring that after the sentence Cortés and his family have been

sentenced to pay 55,000 euros

to the owner.

The aforementioned newspaper reports that Joaquín

did not show up for the trial,

a surprising gesture of disinterest in a situation that undoubtedly put his reputation at stake.

For the magistrate, all the facts denounced by the other party were proven, and although the complainant is satisfied with the resolution, he does not trust that the Spaniard will pay him the debt.

In addition, he has assured that

he does not know where Joaquín is and that for now he does not know anything about him: "I hope to be able

to enter the house

soon to see how he is.

Mr. Joaquín said that he was going to

return the keys to me

but at the moment it has not done so". Although they have not yet pronounced on this sentence, last winter Mónica did address the issue when they had already been denounced by her landlord, and assured that the house was not in good condition, thus justifying her decision not to pay: "It was horrible!

They did not have the house in good condition!

For days we couldn't sleep in our room, because

there were too many bugs, then toxic products...

It was a horrible experience."

This is not the first stain of Joaquín Cortés in the real estate market.

Years ago he experienced a similar chapter due to

the non-payment of the community for a home

he owned in the famous Lavapiés neighborhood in Madrid.

The artist accumulated a

debt of more than 30,000 euros

based on ignoring the heating and water bills, in addition to not paying the corresponding community.

A chapter that was closed when he sold the house that gave so many headaches to his neighbors, who were the ones who raised their voices to publicize the situation they were experiencing.
