A recent significant example was the ban imposed by the Canadian authorities on broadcasting on the national air of the Russian TV channels RT and RT France,” she said.

Zakharova recalled that the Russian side promised to respond to such actions.

“And here we are answering: we have repeatedly warned about this ... A decision has been made to introduce retaliatory measures ... in connection with the actions of Canada, namely the closure of the Moscow office of the Canadian state broadcasting corporation CBC, including the cancellation of accreditations and Russian visas of its journalists” , - she said.

At the end of April, the Russian Foreign Ministry published a list of names of 592 Canadian citizens who are banned from entering Russia on a permanent basis.
