According to the latest statistics on the confirmed cases of COVID-19 among students in schools at all levels of the education department, from April 20, 2021 to May 16, 2022, a total of 91,509 students were infected, including 90,734 local cases (an increase of 9,557 cases from the previous day's statistics), 775 cases were imported from abroad (an increase of 4 cases from the previous day's statistics).
The education department stated through text that as of 3 p.m. yesterday, a total of 313 garden schools in Taiwan had suspended physical courses for the whole school, and another 1,789 garden schools had suspended physical courses for some classes, and the suspended schools covered 22 counties and cities.
