Slutsky wrote about this in his Telegram channel.
He stated that he was sure that it was the “Washington curators” of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky who “made a significant contribution” to the fact that the negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv “turned into stagnation” and “are not currently being conducted in any format.”
At the same time, the parliamentarian recalled that negotiations began at the request of Ukraine at the end of February.
Slutsky added that Washington does not need peace in Ukraine, a peace treaty or success in negotiations.
Earlier, the State Department said that the US administration intends to create favorable conditions for Russian-Ukrainian negotiations by putting pressure on Russia and providing weapons to Kyiv.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Andrei Rudenko said that Kyiv had actually withdrawn from the negotiation process.
