“In the summer training period, ships of the Baltic Fleet will take part in more than 30 exercises of various directions in the Baltic Sea and in various parts of the World Ocean,” the message says.

According to Vice Admiral Viktor Liina, Commander of the Baltic Fleet, the ships of the fleet will have to make several trips before the end of the year, including to the far sea zone.

Coastal units, airplanes and helicopters of naval aviation will also take part in the exercises.

The exercises will be aimed at improving combat skills and increasing the coordination of actions of subunits, units and formations.

Earlier, Su-27 fighters of the naval aviation of the Baltic Fleet completed a training session to intercept mock enemy aircraft.
