Peskov: the use of Russian assets for the needs of Kyiv would be direct theft

According to the Kremlin spokesman, no one spoke about such an initiative to the Russian side.

“Secondly, such a decision would be illegal, blatant, and, of course, requiring an appropriate response,” he stressed.

He added that in fact such an action would be outright theft.

On May 14, German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock called it a difficult task to transfer Russian assets frozen in Germany to Ukraine.

Before that, the Government of Ukraine approved a document according to which Russian assets on the territory of the country become the property of the state.
