China News Service, May 17. According to Hong Kong's "Ta Kung Pao" report, with the development of the national aerospace industry, many schools in Hong Kong have set off a "space fever".

The Muguang English College in Kwun Tong has launched a new innovative technology subject "SPACE M" flying course at the secondary level.

Vice President Zhang Yongfeng said that he hoped that through the course, students could broaden their horizons, experience the profession of flying, and help them develop in the aviation industry in the future.

Some middle school students said that they want to become an aircraft maintenance engineer in the future and do not want to have another air crash in the world.

In pursuit of multiple intelligences teaching, Muguang English College implements a new innovative technology subject "SPACE M" constant flight course at the secondary level. The course content includes two themes of "off the ground classroom" and "space exploration".

In line with the relevant themes, the school also spent HK$600,000 to build a new aviation teaching room "Wentian Pavilion", as well as the "Cosmos Observation - DIY Astronomical Hall", which won the championship of the STEM competition in Hong Kong.

Through the professional astronomical telescope installed on campus, students can even watch the solar and lunar eclipses on campus.

"Let students start to understand career planning in the junior high school stage and experience the major of flying, which may help them develop in the aviation industry and become aviation talents in the future." Zhang Yongfeng said that the school uses various aircraft models in the "Wentian Pavilion" to show students. Introduce the history of flight development and aircraft structure. Students can use different experiments or try the actual operation in a simulated pilot, including take-off and landing, so as to deepen their understanding of flight principles and train their thinking ability.

Zhang Yuanzhe, who is studying in the second year of secondary school, said that the sixth grade of primary school participated in the course organized by the Hong Kong Youth Flying Society, and he was determined to become a pilot, but unfortunately there was a lack of relevant resources around him.

After entering middle school, he was surprised and excited to learn that the school would implement the "SPACE M" flight course. Through this course, he learned new knowledge about aircraft and became more certain about his goal of becoming a pilot in the future.

"I thought it was just ordinary written teaching before, but I never thought that the school would provide so many rich equipment." Li Yuxuan, a middle school student, pointed out that the instruments provided by the school were novel and interesting. He also intends to develop in the aviation industry, and his family expresses his support.

Guo Jinshen, who is also studying in Secondary Two, said that the teachers in the course told the history of various air crashes, and he was deeply impressed by the families of the victims and the crash. Air crash."

Zhang Yongfeng pointed out that the flight course emphasizes both theory and practice. After class, teachers will ask students open-ended questions, such as how to improve the aircraft design and the reasons for take-off failure, so as to cultivate students' ability to solve problems and use scientific knowledge to change the world.

As for the teaching content of space exploration, Ou Dajiang, director of innovation and technology education at the school, said that the course will cover the current satellite development, Beidou navigation system, space safety, and mainland research and exchanges. Line observatory "Lasso" to visit or exchange.
