Family friend matches families for a better integration in everyday life

During the spring, the integration project Familjekompis started in four municipalities in Västmanland.

Fagersta, Hallstahammar, Kungsör and Västerås are the current municipalities out of a total of 28 in the country.

The concept is simple.

The families are matched together, a project manager arranges a meeting with an activity that both families enjoy and then you get to meet.

Should facilitate integration

The Bilda study association is behind the project and they believe that it aims to facilitate integration into everyday life, even though it will also be an exchange for both families.

How long can it take to get a match?

- It is individual, but for these families it took three weeks, says Yousef Hussin.
