President Yoon Seok-yeol has appointed Representative Cho Tae-yong of People's Power as the South Korean ambassador to the United States.



Appointed as the ambassador to the United States, Rep. Cho was an orthodox diplomat and served as the 1st Vice Foreign Minister and the 1st Deputy Director of the National Security Office during the Park Geun-hye administration.



President Yoon appointed So-Young Kim, a professor at Seoul National University, as vice-chairman of the Financial Services Commission.



Professor Kim has been involved in the election campaign since the days of President Yoon's presidential candidate, and was responsible for preparing pledges for overall economic policy.



Kyung-ran Paik, a professor of medicine at Sungkyunkwan University, was appointed as the head of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Professor Baek, who served as the chairman of the Korean Society of Infectious Diseases, served as a transition committee member on the recommendation of Ahn Cheol-soo, the transition chairperson.
