Sweden's prime minister says the country will inform NATO of its desire to join the alliance

"We will inform NATO that we want to join the alliance," RIA Novosti reported.

Earlier, Andersson said that the desire of the country's ruling party to make Sweden part of NATO is not directed against Russia.

Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Ryabkov stressed that the security of Sweden and Finland will not be strengthened after joining NATO.
