Sobyanin announced the resumption of production of cars under the Moskvich brand

“The foreign owner has decided to close the Moscow Renault plant... I have decided to take the plant to the balance of the city and resume the production of passenger cars under the historic Moskvich brand,” Sobyanin wrote in his blog.

Earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia announced that the Russian assets of the Renault group would become state property.

On March 23, Renault decided to suspend the production activities of the plant in Moscow.
