Nearly three months after Russia sent tens of thousands of its troops to Ukraine on February 24, Russian and Moscow-backed forces still control an area of ​​Ukraine roughly the size of Greece on the Sea of ​​Azov and the Black Sea, and in eastern Ukraine on the border with Russia.

Russian forces have been expelled from the area around the northeastern city of Kharkiv in the past two weeks, the fastest loss they have suffered since they were driven from areas around Kyiv and northern Ukraine at the beginning of April.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that high-precision Russian missiles hit two command posts in the Ukrainian region of Kharkiv, as well as other targets, including weapons depots and places where Ukrainian forces and equipment are concentrated.

The ministry indicated that it had launched similar strikes in the unilaterally declared pro-Russian republics of Donetsk and Luhansk, as well as destroying drones.

Russia says that since the start of the military operation, its forces have destroyed 168 aircraft, 125 helicopters, 889 drones, 307 anti-aircraft missile systems, 3,108 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles.
