Several tragic accidents among parachutists have occurred in recent years in Sweden.

In three years, 17 parachutists have died while practicing the sport.

- In terms of the number of jumps, there are, after all, relatively few accidents.

But you are aware of what can happen and prepare very carefully to try to eliminate the risks, says Solveig Klug who lives in Sexdrega outside Svenljunga.

Got stuck right away

The parachute club Cirrus Gothenburg was on site in Vårgårda at the airport on Sunday.

It was the first jumping weekend after the winter break.

What caused the parachute accident is still unclear.

The man in his 35s was an experienced instructor and the hope seemed to go well at first.

When he went in for landing, something happened to the screen that made the man fall 50 meters quickly down.

The accident is being investigated by both the police and the Swedish Parachute Association.

Despite the tragic fatal accident, Solveig Klug is sure of her cause - she will parachute again.

The first time Solveig jumped was in 2014, she then received a parachute jump as a birthday present and since then she has been stuck.

- It is a great feeling of freedom.

Both strange and fantastic.
