At 11 am yesterday, the Ministry of Unification attempted to send a notice to North Korea asking for cooperation in the prevention of COVID-19 through the inter-Korean joint liaison office.

Minister Kwon Young-se tried to deliver it to the Director of the United Front, Kim Young-chol, but North Korea did not express its intention to accept the traditional text.

Initially, the government was planning to offer vaccines, medicines, masks, diagnostic tools, etc., and to offer practical contact between the two Koreas while announcing that it was willing to cooperate in technology to share quarantine experiences.

Inter-Korean liaison office calls are usually made twice a day, at the start and end of business, but North Korea remained silent during the closing calls.
