A violent fire ravaged this Sunday evening a building of a social assistance home for children, in Troarn, east of Caen (Calvados).

Lightning clearly seems to be the cause of the disaster, which did not cause any injuries but caused a great fright and significant damage.

The fire ultimately ravaged a 500 m² building.

About 40 firefighters battled the flames for two hours before the blaze was contained.
