- It will be a fully developed fire in one part of a two-part industrial building, says the police's press spokesperson, Johnny Gustavsson in an initial stage.

According to the rescue service's management operator, there were initially units from three stations on site at the sawmill, a number that increased to five during the evening.

The Swedish Transport Administration has been warned that it may be relevant to close train traffic.

According to freelance photographer Pontus Stenberg on site, the trains are still passing but at a reduced speed.

Risk of further spread

At 6 pm on Monday, a forecast was set for 10 pm, but it was still not possible to rule out further spread.

At 19:45, the police announced that the overheated building, a sawmill, would burn to the ground.

- It is to protect the surrounding building that is our job now, states at the same time Tobias Åsén, rescue leader at the rescue service.

The police have drawn up a report of a serious arson, but there are currently no suspects.
