A woman in her fifties tried to end her life this Sunday morning by setting herself on fire in Pont-Melvez (Côtes-d'Armor).

The victim is the village baker.

She acted very close to her store, says France Bleu.

Her husband rushed to help her.

He was burned on his hands.

A still unexplained gesture

The man was taken to Guingamp hospital (Côtes-d'Armor).

The vital prognosis of his wife was engaged at the time of her care by the rescuers.

She was evacuated by helicopter to the burns department at Nantes hospital (Loire-Atlantique).

No reason that can help to understand the gesture of the fifties has so far been advanced.

Residents of the village spoke of the frenetic pace of work of the victim.

The baker took to the road several times a day to make rounds and bring bread to people in the area who could not move.
