The total number of cases in the country has exceeded 820 thousand, of which 496 thousand people have recovered, RIA Novosti reports.

Earlier, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un announced the emergency situation in the DPRK due to COVID-19.

Later, Deputy Representative of the UN Secretary-General Farhan Haq said that the international organization was ready to help North Korea in connection with reports of an outbreak of coronavirus in the country.
