In a statement, the political force says that the party supports Finland's membership in NATO against the backdrop of "significant changes in the security situation in Finland and Europe."
The party also stated that they support the Finnish government in the decision to open negotiations on the country's membership in the alliance.
Earlier, the office of the Finnish leader reported that during a telephone conversation, Finnish President Sauli Niinistö told Russian President Vladimir Putin that his country intended to join the North Atlantic Alliance.
According to the Kremlin, Putin, in a conversation with Niinistö, stressed that abandoning the traditional policy of military neutrality would be a mistake, since there are no threats to Finland's security.
