Nataliya was evacuated from the Azovstal steelworks: "Did not think we would get out"

Intense fighting has been going on at the Mariupol steel plant since the war in Ukraine began.

The steelworks is the last place in the city out of Russian control and has been subjected to heavy artillery attacks, at the same time as civilians and soldiers sought protection under the massive building.

Nataliya Babeush tells Reuters that she had given up hope of coming out alive.

- We had no information at all.

We were completely cut off from the world and from the flow of information.

We did not know if evacuation was taking place.

We could only guess, she says.
