Bastrykin instructed to conduct an investigation due to the desecration of a Soviet monument in Slovakia

The report says that the Russian embassy in Slovakia reported the desecration of a monument to soldiers of the Red Army in the city of Piestany in western Slovakia.

Vandals put on the monument the sign of one of the banned Ukrainian national battalions. 

“The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia to establish all the circumstances of what happened in the framework of the criminal case,” the Investigative Committee said.

Also, the Russian Investigative Committee is investigating cases on similar facts of desecration of monuments in Slovakia in March of this year.

In addition, the Investigative Committee of Russia will analyze the legality of the unilateral decision of the Latvian authorities to demolish the monument to the liberators of Riga.
