"Hello.

Ingvar Lomhed in Övertorneå had home care several days a week.

He was found dead after several weeks and nothing has been heard on TV or in newspapers.

Check that out now ", said the anonymous tipper and hung up before the reporter who received the call had time to ask some follow-up questions.

The next day I step into Ingvar's apartment.

His gaze is fixed directly on the floor where he was found dead in his loneliness after the assistance company was absent for ten days.

The traces of him can still be seen in the cracks on the parquet, even though the siblings tried to clean it up.

The questions start to gnaw.

How could this happen?

He was entitled to assistance every waking hour of the day, seven days a week, according to the relatives.

"For a second it feels like he's alive there"

In the kitchen, I am met by Ingvar's hard-edged cupboard doors, after he has frustratedly struggled in a wheelchair in his non-accessible home.

I also read a handwritten sign with hot red letters in which he urges the assistants to rinse the dishes thoroughly.

I laugh even for a second, it feels like he's alive there, even though I've never met him.

The siblings agree with the laughter and mention that the brother had a bit of a hot mood sometimes, but that he was also kind and incredibly good at mecha.

"Everything has to be double-checked"

The siblings answer my questions in detail.

And they show me text and call lists in Ingvar's mobile.

But everything must be double-checked.

Here are several of us in the editorial staff who are helped and everyone involved contributes with small but important pieces of the puzzle.

Documents must be requested from IVO, the police incident report from the day Ingvar was found, calls must be made to the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, read about LSS and we will of course get hold of the assistance company Frösunda so that they get a chance to respond to the criticism.

But Frösunda's closest responsible operations manager, who is located 50 km from Övertorneå, does not want to be interviewed.

For reasons of confidentiality, we are told.

I am instead referred to the company's communications manager, who also says he cannot answer, neither in writing nor on television.

This despite the fact that we have a power of attorney from the relatives where it is clear that we can ask questions about their deceased brother.

But after the first publications, Frösunda is changing and is now considering answers to our questions.

We continue to demand responsibility

We will thus continue to demand responsibility from the assistance company that did not actually keep its promise to Ingvar.

Why did they continue to undertake a mission they clearly could not accomplish?

But we also demand responsibility from Övertorneå municipality, which is setting up an interview that you can take part in today.
