Al Jazeera television journalist

Shireen Abu Akleh

has been killed in a clash between Israeli soldiers and Palestinian militiamen during an Israeli military incursion into the Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank.

The Qatari chain and the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) denounce that the veteran reporter

"was murdered in cold blood by the Israeli occupation forces"

in the raid this morning in which the Palestinian journalist Ali Samudi was also injured.

Israel, for its part, points out that, based on the first data it has, it

is "very possible" that Abu Akleh was shot by Palestinian

gunmen in the confrontation and affirms that the Palestinians rejected its proposal for a joint investigation to clarify the origin of the bullet that ended the life of the journalist.
