The Minister of the Interior on Tuesday asked the prefects, the police and the gendarmerie “to redouble their vigilance and to organize reinforced protection of the places of interest of the Jewish community in France”.

This precaution, which is aimed in particular at “religious, cultural and educational places”, comes after threats made by Daesh.

On April 17, in an audio press release broadcast on Telegram messaging, the jihadist organization promised to “avenge” its previous leader, who died in February, and called on its supporters to take advantage of the war in Ukraine to resume their attacks in Europe.

"In her message, she particularly targets the Jewish community," wrote the Minister of the Interior in a telegram.
