Five suspected robbers were arrested this Monday in the middle of the afternoon in a building in Fontenay-sous-Bois (Val-de-Marne).

They are suspected of having attacked around 11.30 a.m. a jewelry store located in a shopping center, reports

According to our colleagues, they entered the store with handguns and an axe.

The criminals, four of whom are believed to be minors, then got their hands on jewelry before fleeing.

Loot estimated at 21,000 euros

A manhunt then began.

“Friends” of the robbers would have initially tried to prevent the arrival of the police on the spot with mortar fire.

The police responded with tear gas canisters.

The five suspects took refuge in a building.

Surrounded by the police, they finally surrendered.
