Top start of the bac 2022 on Wednesday!

Specialty written tests are being held for the first time for 523,199 high school students.

Postponed from March to May due to the Covid, they are not taken into account in Parcoursup.

The specialty tests, born of the baccalaureate reform decided by Minister Jean-Michel Blanquer, have been postponed for two months.

More than 520,000 senior high school students are preparing to take their two baccalaureate specialty exams.

It starts on Wednesday and it's new.

These tests, which are part of the reform of the baccalaureate, have in fact never taken place because of the health crisis.

"The two previous sessions had led us to make very substantial adjustments. It is finally the first time that the final specialty tests can be held in the planned format", recalled Monday during a press briefing the general manager. of school education (Dgesco), Édouard Geffray.

Continuous monitoring has therefore taken precedence over the past two years.

But this time, the two specialties will be well evaluated on the table.

These two subjects are chosen by high school students from courses that are not part of the common core, such as mathematics, the most chosen specialty with more than 140,000 candidates.

Other subjects attract students: economic and social sciences (SES) bring together 136,466 high school students and history-geography, geopolitics and political science (HGGSP) 106,994.

Each of these tests has a high coefficient: 16% of the final mark.

Notes not counted on Parcoursup

This is a specificity this year, the exam takes place in May.

It was originally to be held in March, but the date has been postponed due to the absence of teachers and students this winter linked to Covid-19.

The specialty notes will therefore not be counted in the Parcoursup files, the site dedicated to admissions to higher education.

Instead, the files will indicate the averages of specialties over the three semesters of first and the first two of terminale.

How the baccalaureate reform has upset tutoring

This year, 523,199 candidates pass the baccalaureate, including 381,221 in the general route and 141,978 in the technological route.

They will work on these tests, which take place from Wednesday to Friday depending on the materials.

Just over 45,000 proofreaders will be mobilized.

Contrary to what was initially planned, students will know their marks for these tests at the same time as the rest of their baccalaureate results, at the beginning of July.

Since the baccalaureate reform in 2019, the results are based 40% on continuous assessment and 60% on final tests: written and oral French in the first year, and philosophy, specialties and the major oral in the final year.
